I'm Rod.
An engineer, developer, researcher, and lifelong learner. Father. My work spans industrial automation, renewable energy, distributed systems, AI, and software architecture — but the driving question is always the same: how do we understand systems deeply enough to build better ones?
I don't see technology as isolated tools. Whether designing a power plant controller, writing a DNP3 simulator, studying biology, or thinking about philosophy — I'm always looking for the underlying patterns that connect everything.
Professionally, years in renewable energy and industrial automation: SCADA systems, substations, BESS, photovoltaic plants, protocols, control systems. Over time expanded into software architecture, AI-assisted development, and research methodology.
I love building things — practical tools, research experiments, ideas that may take years to become useful. Systems that are understandable, maintainable, capable of evolving.
Curiosity extends beyond technology: biology, human behavior, psychology, nutrition, systems thinking, philosophy, complexity science, learning. Family comes first — fatherhood shifted perspective on responsibility, patience, long-term thinking.
